Descriptiontext

Diffusion Capital Partners (DCP) is a venture capital fund manager incorporated in the Netherlands as Diffusion Capital Partners B.V., with operating headquarters in Istanbul and a regional office in Ankara. Founded in 2007, the firm specializes in early-stage deep-technology investments, deploying Seed and Series A capital (initial tickets typically below EUR 500k and follow-on tranches up to EUR 1-2M, contingent on milestones) into companies across Life Sciences, ICT, Industrial Products, AG-Tech/Materials/Chemicals, Consumer Products, and Energy & Environment. DCP manages two funds: the Diffusion Capital Fund (DCF), co-financed by the European Union and academic institutions for pre-seed and seed investments, and Diffusion Capital Partners Fund II (DCP-II), which targets technology-intensive startups with global potential and is supported under TÜBİTAK's Tech-InvesTR 1514 program with backing from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

The firm is led by four partners (Alper Karagöz CFA, Altan Küçükçınar, Fırat Özpınar, and Haluk Zontul) supported by an analyst and operational staff, with the team claiming over 70 years of cumulative high-tech sector experience. DCP prefers to lead rounds but syndicates with other funds and angels, deploying capital in stages tied to technical and business milestones. The firm is physically embedded in Turkey's two leading technology-transfer campuses, ITU Ayazaga Ariteknokent (Istanbul) and ODTÜ Teknokent (Ankara), giving it privileged access to academic spinouts and government co-financing channels.

DCP's revenue model is conventional fund management: management fees on committed/invested capital plus carried interest on successful exits. The LP base is concentrated in institutional and public-finance backers (EU IPA funds, TÜBİTAK, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, and academic partners). DCP complies with EU Regulation 2019/2088 (SFDR), integrating sustainability risk and ESG factors into its pre-investment decisions. Marketing and deal-sourcing rely on a direct corporate website (dcp.vc), Twitter (@DCPVentures), LinkedIn, and the 'Inside Deep Tech' Mailchimp newsletter.
