Descriptiontext

Cambridge Savings Bank is a mutual savings bank founded in 1834 and headquartered at 1374 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The bank operates as a community-oriented full-service financial institution serving three primary customer segments: individual consumers (personal checking, savings, CDs, mortgages, home equity, personal loans, investment referrals via Connect Invest), small businesses (checking, savings, lending, treasury management), and commercial clients (corporate banking, commercial real estate lending, asset-based lending, treasury management). Distribution is multi-channel: 24 full-service branches across Massachusetts and New Hampshire (post-First Seacoast merger), online and mobile banking platforms, telephone banking at 888.418.5626, and the Ivy Bank digital-only subsidiary targeting online customers. Zelle and Mastercard debit integrations support payments; the bank holds FDIC insurance, Equal Housing Lender status, and NMLS registration (ID#543370).

Revenue is generated primarily through net interest income on the loan portfolio (residential mortgages, commercial real estate, commercial loans, consumer loans including home equity), supplemented by deposit-based service fees (overdraft, maintenance), treasury management and commercial banking transaction fees, and referral/partnership revenue from investment products (Connect Invest) and other third-party arrangements (Banzai financial education content). The bank's pricing is quote-based rather than publicly disclosed, with a documented $1,200 welcome bonus available for new checking customers as an acquisition lever.

The bank is governed by its parent holding company, Cambridge Financial Group, Inc., and operates as a mutual institution owned by its depositors rather than external shareholders. In May 2026, Cambridge Financial Group entered a definitive agreement to acquire First Seacoast Bancorp in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $80.9 million ($17.25 per share), which would add five New Hampshire branches and bring pro forma assets to roughly $7 billion. Customer wins cited in source material include Crave Better Foods (revolving credit facility scaled by over 90%) and participation in a $135 million syndicated facility for JPalmer Collective. Day-to-day technology infrastructure is described as traditional banking systems supporting online/mobile channels, Zelle, Mastercard, and digital account opening; no proprietary AI/ML capabilities are disclosed.
