Linares of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey (served 2017–2019) will join McCarter & English as a partner and lead its Alternative Dispute Resolution practice in Newark starting May 22, 2019. Judge Linares brings extensive experience in intellectual property and patent cases, having presided over more than 50 patent cases in six years, and notably led the New Jersey District Court to achieve the highest affirmance rate on ANDA cases at the Federal Circuit. He is the first Hispanic federal chief judge in New Jersey and the first Cuban-born federal chief judge in the United States.
