Descriptiontext

BGN Technologies Ltd. is the dedicated technology transfer and commercialization subsidiary of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), headquartered in Be'er Sheva, Israel. The company functions as the exclusive conduit through which intellectual property, inventions, and research outputs generated by BGU's faculty, graduate researchers, and specialized institutes are translated into commercial applications, licensing agreements, and industry partnerships. Its underlying asset base spans BGU's engineering, natural sciences, health sciences, desert studies, and humanities research capabilities, anchored by dedicated institutes including the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, the National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev, and the Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science & Technology, as well as BGU's Cybersecurity Center of Excellence.

The business model is that of a university-affiliated technology transfer office: BGN does not sell discrete commercial products but instead monetizes university research through negotiated licensing deals, sponsored research agreements, and collaborative development partnerships with industry. Commercial terms are handled case-by-case and are not publicly disclosed. Its primary customer relationships are with multinational corporates seeking access to academic research capabilities; a notable recent anchor is the five-year, $10M+ Aviation Cybersecurity Research Center partnership with Boeing, focused on secure architectures and resilient autonomous platforms for aerospace.

The company has no separately disclosed headcount, no independent equity funding rounds, and is wholly owned by BGU, which was established in 1969. BGN Technologies itself operates as a captive commercialization vehicle rather than a venture-backed independent entity, and its operational cadence is tied to BGU's research output cycle and to the pipeline of inbound industry partnership opportunities facilitated through BGU's international academic and liaison infrastructure.
