Descriptiontext

Panrico is a Spanish packaged-bread brand founded in 1962 (with bakery operations dating to 1928), now operating as a brand under the ownership of Valencia-based Vicky Foods after its March 2026 acquisition from Catalan group Adam Foods. The company manufactures sliced bread, toasted bread, specialty breads (whole wheat, rye, spelt, cereal and seed loaves), rustic-style bread, burger and hot dog buns, and double-baked crispy snack bread (Chips Cristal) at a single 50,000+ square-metre production facility in Gulpilhares, Portugal, with three production lines and 21,000 tonnes of annual capacity. Production relies on traditional baker ("panadero") kneading and baking methods using selected wheat flours and olive oil, with many SKUs positioned as vegan and free from added lactose and sugars; the brand holds a long-standing reference position for sliced and toasted bread across the Iberian Peninsula.

The business model is B2C through physical retail and grocery distribution in Spain and Portugal, with revenue generated from one-time product purchases at retail shelves. The company disclosed €23.8 million in revenue for its last fiscal year (2025). Distribution is supported by an owned digital marketing presence (corporate website panpanrico.es, Facebook, and the Club Panrico Instagram community) focused on recipe content, promotions, and consumer engagement, rather than direct e-commerce. Strategic positioning centers on heritage brand equity ("panaderos desde 1962"), authenticity of recipe, and ingredient quality — particularly the inclusion of olive oil across most SKUs — to defend pricing and shelf placement against private label and competitor brands in a mature packaged-bread category.

Corporate structure sits within Vicky Foods Products, S.L.U., with the operational legal entity MECANODUL, S.L.U. providing contact and data-processing functions; the Vicky Foods acquisition explicitly targets reinforcement of the bread segment, which has led the group's sales since 2022, and advances the parent's Iberian industrial consolidation strategy.
