What RO | ROCKETT DESIGN does
RO | ROCKETT DESIGN is a privately held, full-service architecture and design collaborative founded in 2011 by Jason Ro and Zac Rockett, both Harvard Graduate School of Design alumni. The firm operates three integrated studios in Los Angeles, Sausalito (San Francisco Bay Area), and Aspen that function as a single interactive team working on projects in real time. It serves high-net-worth residential clients across the Western United States, with additional commissions in New York and Baja California, Mexico, plus a small portfolio of mixed-use and institutional projects. The practice specializes in site-responsive design that mediates the relationship between occupant, landscape, and natural light, with particular depth in mountain, lakefront, and coastal typologies alongside historic preservation and modern additions.
The firm's core deliverable is architecture and design services spanning concept design, interior architecture, material specification, landscape and lighting design coordination, and construction administration. Underlying technology is conventional architectural CAD and BIM tooling — REVIT, Sketchup, Rhino, and Enscape for 3D modeling, documentation, and rendering — with no proprietary platform or AI/ML capability disclosed. The firm holds architectural licensure in California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New York, and Utah, enabling direct project execution across multiple states without a local architect-of-record overlay.
RO | ROCKETT DESIGN generates revenue through professional design fees on a project-by-project basis, with no disclosed subscription, productized, or licensing streams. The go-to-market model is sales-led and referral-driven, supported by an aggressive earned-media and awards strategy — over 50 industry awards since 2019 across AIA, American Architecture Awards, SARA, Archello, Architizer A+, and Residential Design Magazine, alongside press features in Wall Street Journal, Dwell, Elle Decor, Dezeen, Luxe, and Hypebeast. The firm is founder-owned and controlled, with no disclosed institutional investors, funding rounds, or parent company.
