What myStarjob does
myStarjob is a Malaysia-focused online job portal operated by MyStarJob Network Sdn Bhd (Co No 846862-W) under the publicly listed media conglomerate Star Media Group Berhad. The platform connects Malaysian jobseekers with employers across all 13 states, with coverage spanning accounting, IT, construction, engineering, healthcare, logistics, marketing, media, retail, and sales functions. Jobseekers access job search, advanced filtering, resume posting, and free registration, while employers are the paying side — purchasing job posting packages and advertising through Star Media Group's bundled commercial offering at smg360.com.my.
The underlying platform is a conventional job board with a web front end and native mobile applications on iOS, Android, and Windows 8. Differentiating product features include "Career Test with Jobgraphy" (a personality and career-fit assessment for jobseekers), a Walk-in Interviews listings section surfacing location- and time-bound recruitment events, an extensive library of career articles and expert video content, and a corporate training module delivered in partnership with Leaderonomics. Distribution is the platform's primary structural advantage: it sits inside Star Media Group's integrated print-to-digital media ecosystem and is cross-promoted through The Star newspaper and the wider Star network, giving it audience reach that standalone domestic job boards struggle to match.
Commercially, myStarjob is a two-sided marketplace monetized entirely on the employer side via job posting packages (quote-based, no public price cards) and advertising, with direct-sales support via a dedicated customer service line. The operation is lean, with 1–10 employees, no disclosed revenue or funding, and no AI/ML, API, or SDK layer documented. The relevant financial signal is therefore parent-level: the platform is a digital recruitment channel within Star Media Group Berhad rather than an independently scaled venture, and its addressable market is the Malaysian domestic labour market only.
