Nowocoat

What Nowocoat does

Nowocoat Industrial A/S is a Danish coatings manufacturer headquartered in Kolding that develops and produces innovative, functional, and sustainable coatings for mineral, wood, and metal surfaces. Founded in 1861 and operating with 11–50 employees, the company is organized into three business segments: a Professional segment supplying roof, metal, facade, and floor coatings, cleaners, and sealants to painters and contractors; an Industrial segment providing customized water-based, solvent-based, and powder coating solutions developed in close collaboration with manufacturing customers; and a Private Label segment supplying complete indoor and outdoor coating categories to retail chains. The product portfolio is structured around four branded families — NowoClean (cleaners), NowoProtect (sealants and protective coatings), NowoMetal (metal coatings and primers), and Neutralon (algae remover) — plus the NowoColor Designer digital color selection tool for professionals.

The company's core technology spans water-based, solvent-based, and powder coating formulations, with proprietary positioning around environmental compliance and sustainability: Nowocoat holds the Nordic Swan Ecolabel (svanemærket) for its roof paint, the only such certification in the market, and is the first Nordic-European company in the coatings industry certified within UN Global Goals 3, 8, and 12. Its revenue model is product-based across all three segments, with industrial and private label work customized to client specifications; pricing is not publicly disclosed and is quoted per engagement. Go-to-market combines direct sales to professional and industrial buyers, a public case study with NDI (a wheel manufacturer) demonstrating VOC reduction outcomes, downloadable marketing collateral, an active LinkedIn presence, and a four-language corporate website (Danish, English, German, Swedish) targeting Northern Europe. The company is privately held as a subsidiary of Nowocoat Group, an investment holding entity, and operates with no publicly disclosed revenue, funding events, or M&A activity.
