What Nord Keyboards does

Nord Keyboards is the consumer brand of Clavia DMI AB, a privately held Swedish company founded in 1983 in Stockholm by Hans Nordelius. The company designs, manufactures, and sells professional stage keyboards, synthesizers, and digital pianos, with all instruments handmade in Sweden. Its product portfolio is organized around distinct series: the Nord Stage flagship performance keyboards combining piano, organ, and synthesizer; the Nord Electro series focused on portable emulations of vintage electro-mechanical instruments; the Nord Piano and Nord Grand lines built around premium Triple Sensor and Kawai Hammer Action keybeds; the Nord Organ series with advanced rotary speaker emulation; the Nord Wave performance synthesizer; the Nord Lead analog-style synthesizer; and the Nord Drum 3P compact drum synthesizer. The company also sells accessories (cases, stands, pedals, monitors) and provides free companion software (Nord Sound Manager, Nord Sample Editor, Nord Drum 3 Manager, Nord Beat 3 for iPad), along with proprietary sound libraries (Nord Piano Library, Nord Sample Library, curated sound collections, and artist signature sound banks). Underlying technology is digital: Virtual Analog synthesis, sample playback, FM synthesis, and Wavetable engines, paired with hand-built hardware and exclusive sampled content.

• Studiologic: Studiologic (Italian) produces the Numa series of stage pianos and synthesizers, competing directly with Nord's stage piano lineup for performing musicians seeking premium hammer-action keyboards.

• Sequential: Sequential (formerly Dave Smith Instruments) focuses on premium analog and hybrid synthesizers (Prophet, OB-X, Take 5) that overlap with Nord's Lead and Wave synthesizer lines among professional and prosumer synth players.
• Moog Music: Moog produces high-end analog synthesizers (Sub 37, Moog One, Matriarch) that overlap with Nord's synthesizer portfolio for professional players who prioritize analog character and premium build quality.
