Pergolas of Distinction

What Pergolas of Distinction does

Pergolas of Distinction (legal entity Lifestyles of Distinction Pty Ltd as Trustee for Lifestyle Investment Trust) is a family-owned private business founded in 1994 and headquartered in Holden Hill, Adelaide, South Australia. It designs, supplies, and installs custom outdoor living structures — timber and steel pergolas, verandahs, carports, gazebos, decking, opening louvre roofs, retractable fabric roofs, folding-arm awnings, sun louvres, shutters, and architectural umbrellas — for Adelaide homeowners and a smaller commercial segment spanning retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, and multi-residential projects.

The company operates as a one-stop design-supply-install shop under South Australian builder's licence BLD253574, with Master Builders Association affiliation and Building Indemnity Insurance on projects above $12,000. It is the exclusive South Australia supply-and-install partner for Louvretec, Markilux, Gibus, and Renson premium international brands, and uses Somfy exclusively for motorisation with a 5-year Somfy warranty on motors and electronics. Differentiating technical elements include Louvretec's award-winning Spiral Pivot louvre system and Kiss Pivot system, marine-grade T316 stainless steel drive axles, and UV-stabilised components engineered to Australian wind-load standards.

The business model is project-based: free design consultations and quotations, one-off design-supply-install contracts, plus customer finance plans for higher-value jobs. Marketing and lead generation span Google, Facebook, Instagram, Houzz, SA Life Magazine, radio, signage/vehicle branding, and a tracked referral program. Revenue is not publicly disclosed.

Regional players

• Adelaide Home Improvement: Local Adelaide home renovation and outdoor structure provider. Competes for the same metropolitan Adelaide residential renovation demand, though typically with a broader service scope beyond pergolas and verandahs.
• Alfresco Pergolas & Patios: Australian pergola and patio installer focused on specific east-coast regions. Comparable custom outdoor structure offering with a regionally constrained footprint, providing a template for state-by-state geographic expansion.
