000webhost

What 000webhost does

000webhost was a free, ad-free web hosting service originally founded in 2008 and headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus. It operated with a pure product-led growth motion, offering free hosting to attract non-technical users, freelancers, and small site owners, and built a long-tail user base over its operational life. According to the source material, 000webhost has ceased operations as a standalone brand; former users are being redirected and supported through Hostinger's platform.

The absorbing platform, Hostinger, delivers cloud-based web hosting infrastructure spanning shared, cloud, VPS, WordPress, WooCommerce, and web apps hosting, layered with AI-native capabilities including the Horizons AI Website Builder (vibe coding from text descriptions), Kodee agentic AI for WordPress management, the drag-and-drop website builder, and a portfolio of AI agents (OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Hostinger Agents). Underlying technology includes NVMe storage, an in-house CDN, ObjectCache, and LiteSpeed Web Server, with free SSL, automated backups, and free site migration bundled into standard plans.

The business model is subscription-based, with three primary tiers (Premium $2.99/mo, Business $3.99/mo, Cloud Startup $7.99/mo) on aggressive 48-month promotional discounts, plus recurring revenue from domain registration and professional email. Distribution is direct-to-consumer self-serve via auth.hostinger.com with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required, supported by content marketing, SEO, and targeted acquisition landing pages such as the 000webhost migration offer. Brent Oxley is listed as founder & CEO.
