City of Refuge LA Bishop Noel Jones

What City of Refuge LA Bishop Noel Jones does

City of Refuge Los Angeles is a Pentecostal church ministry headquartered in Gardena, California, founded in 1994 (originally as Greater Bethany Community Church) and led by Senior Pastor Bishop Noel Jones, a Jamaican-American bishop. The organization serves approximately 17,000 members through in-person worship services, Wednesday Bible study, women's and men's ministries, bereavement support, baptism and baby blessing ceremonies, prison reentry programs, and community health awareness events. It currently operates from temporary worship locations in Compton and Lynwood pending full activation of a newly acquired building.

The organization's commercial activity beyond donations spans an e-commerce storefront (noeljones.netviewshop.com) selling First Lady Loretta Jones-branded cookbooks ($29.99–$35.00), a Women's Prayer Journal ($25.00), Bishop Jones aprons ($39.99), and a Bishop Sunet Art Collection of canvas prints ($149–$197), supplemented by tea products under the "All Things Tea by Chef LJ" brand. Media properties include the Jones and Jones Podcast (faith, food, community) and the "Holiday Moments with Lady Loretta" cooking show distributed on Merge TV / In the Black Network. Digital giving is enabled through Cash App ($cityofrefuge1045), Zelle, and online donation pages.

Revenue is generated almost entirely through tithes and offerings from the member congregation, with ancillary income from merchandise and media. The GTM motion is community-led and event-driven, anchored by Sunday services, Bible study, Pastor Summits (Las Vegas), Back-to-School events, and Women's Ministry gatherings. No venture capital, private equity, or institutional investment is associated with the organization; ownership and control rest with Bishop Noel Jones and First Lady Loretta Jones.
