What Holy Spirit Catholic Church does

Holy Spirit Catholic Church is a Catholic parish operating under the Archdiocese of Atlanta, located at 4465 Northside Drive NW in Atlanta, Georgia, and serving the Sandy Springs and greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Founded in 1964, the parish delivers the full sacramental life of the Catholic Church — daily and weekend Mass (Monday–Friday 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM; Saturday Vigil; six Sunday Masses including two in Spanish), Confession, Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, Anointing of the Sick, and Eucharistic Adoration — to a multilingual congregation. It operates a comprehensive ministry ecosystem organized by life stage: Centro Católico (Hispanic Ministry serving 500+ families since March 2000), Phoenix Youth Ministry for 6th–12th graders (EDGE and LIFETEEN), Young Adult Ministry for parishioners in their 20s–30s, Children's Religious Education (preschool through 8th grade), OCIA for adult converts, RCIC for older children, Vacation Bible School, Marriage Preparation, and outreach programs including Walking with Moms in Need and a food drive benefiting the Sandy Springs Community Assistance program. A separately administered adjacent entity, Holy Spirit Preparatory School (Pre-K through 12th grade), is affiliated with the parish and benefits from the GOAL Scholarship Program redirecting Georgia state tax credits (up to $9,000 per student) to tuition assistance.

The parish's underlying technology stack is conventional digital ministry infrastructure: a content-managed website (hsccatl.com) hosting Mass schedules, news, calendars, event signup, and online giving; daily livestreamed Masses in English and Spanish for remote participation; the third-party MyParishApp mobile application; an online giving platform integrated with Venmo and GiveCentral supporting weekly offertory, second collections, and special appeals; social media channels on Facebook and Instagram (including a dedicated Phoenix Youth Ministry Instagram); and a weekly email newsletter. No APIs, SDKs, or proprietary technology platforms are disclosed.

As a non-profit religious organization, Holy Spirit Catholic Church does not operate a commercial revenue model. Worship services are free; sacramental preparation and programs charge modest fees intended only to cover materials ($35 OCIA registration; $65 per child for VBS; $110 for Youth Ministry registration; $150 per student for Confirmation preparation plus $20 late fee after May 29). Operating revenue is sustained through recurring tithes, second collections, the Archbishop's Annual Appeal, online donations, legacy giving, and fees from approximately 20 full-time-equivalent staff and ministry leaders. The parish is led by Pastor Fr. Luke Ballman (celebrating 25 years of priestly ordination in July 2026), with a leadership team spanning Communications, Evangelization & Faith Formation, OCIA, Hispanic Ministries, Music, Mission Advancement and Development, and Operations and Finance.
