What Tiffin Scenic Studios does
Tiffin Scenic Studios is a privately held, US-based custom rigging manufacturer founded in 1901 and headquartered in Tiffin, Ohio. The company designs, fabricates, and installs stage and athletic rigging systems for theatres, performing arts centers, arenas, stadiums, universities, and multipurpose venues across the United States. It operates through two divisions: Tiffin Scenic Studios (TSS) for theatrical rigging and Athletic & Performance Rigging (APR) for sports venues, with all production completed in-house at its Ohio facility by a team of engineers and technicians.
The product portfolio spans manual rigging components (head blocks, counterweight arbors, pin rails), motorized rigging systems with proprietary digital controls (Tracker Elite/Pro/Mini/Access, Stinger hoist, GC Series), dead hung rigging, fire curtains, theatrical drapery, curtain tracks, wire tension and pipe grids, acoustical banner systems, and proprietary aluminum/steel trusses including the CHEETAh lighting truss and V-Loc video truss. On the athletic side, offerings include arena masking curtains, sports netting, proscenium stage setups, dasher board masking, and super rigging grids. Services extend beyond manufacturing to custom design, specification documentation, installation, ANSI E1.47 safety inspections, and fall protection engineering.
