Mastermind Event Rentals

What Mastermind Event Rentals does

Mastermind Event Rentals is a family-owned event rental company founded in 2007 by Scott and Jen McAndrew and headquartered in a single warehouse facility at 2591 Carp Road, Carp, Ontario, Canada. The company rents event equipment and supplies across seven product categories - linens, tables/chairs/lounge furniture, decor and lighting, catering supplies, concessions and games, tradeshow supplies, and a secondary channel of used items for sale - to customers planning weddings, corporate events, conferences, and tradeshows. Underlying technology consists of an online product catalog with a quote request workflow, a client portal for repeat customers, and a downloadable PDF catalog; no proprietary software platforms, AI/ML capabilities, APIs, or mobile applications are disclosed in the source material.

The company operates a direct-to-consumer rental model combined with a recurring B2B commercial laundry service introduced in 2023. Pricing is quote-based and not publicly disclosed, with a 50% non-refundable retainer due at booking, balance due ten business days prior to the event, and an 8% non-refundable damage waiver added to every order. The commercial laundry side provides weekly industrial linen cleaning to venues, colleges, and healthcare businesses - notably Canadian Tire Centre and Algonquin College as named enterprise accounts - generating subscription-style recurring revenue that complements transactional event rentals.

Mastermind Event Rentals is privately held and bootstrapped, with no institutional funding, no parent company, and ownership concentrated in the founding McAndrew family (Scott, Jen, Chase, and Bryn). The company has grown from a three-person founding team to approximately fifteen staff handling hundreds of events weekly, serving the Ottawa, Carp, and Kanata geographies. As of the most recent source data, there is no disclosed revenue, no expansion beyond the single Carp location, and no regulatory, M&A, or restructuring activity.
