Baxley

What Baxley does

Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit membership-based civic organization serving the City of Baxley and Appling County in Southeast Georgia. It operates three integrated functions: a Chamber of Commerce providing networking, professional development, and advocacy for local businesses; the Development Authority of Appling County, which leads business recruitment, retention, expansion, and site/infrastructure planning; and the Appling County Board of Tourism, which promotes local events, attractions, and visitor engagement. Core products and services include the Chamber Membership Directory, Economic Development Programs, Business Advocacy Services, Tourism Promotion Services, and the Park West Industrial Park — a 150-acre commercial and industrial site on Hwy 341 featuring a 60,000-sf building and pre-staged utility infrastructure (water, wastewater, 3-phase underground electrical, natural gas, broadband).

The business model is membership-dues-based with supplementary event revenue and, implicitly, economic development funding for industrial park operations. Distribution is local and regional, reaching SMBs and prospective enterprises through direct sales, the organization's website (baxley.org), community events including the Chamber Gala and Farm Tour, and an online membership directory. The organization is led by Matt Carter (President/CEO of the Development Authority) and Miranda Tanner (permitting and licensing), and is institutionally partnered with the City of Baxley, Appling County Board of Commissioners, and regional utility providers (Satilla Rural EMC, ATC Broadband, Atlanta Gas Light). E-Verify compliance was authorized 03/06/2008 (Company ID 105437). The organization has no proprietary technology, no disclosed revenue figures, no funding rounds, and no external ownership beyond its member base.
