Shaheed Police Smrity College

What Shaheed Police Smrity College does

Shaheed Police Smrity College (SPSC) is a government-affiliated educational institution located in the Police Complex at Mirpur-14, Dhaka, Bangladesh, operating under the direct governance of Bangladesh Police Headquarters. Established in 1999, the institution serves approximately 8,000 students spanning primary (Class I-V), junior secondary (Class VI-VIII), secondary (Class IX-X leading to SSC), and higher secondary (Class XI-XII leading to HSC) levels, with a strong emphasis on science education. The college is supervised by senior police leadership, with the Inspector General of Police serving as Chief Patron and the Additional Inspector General of Police serving as Chairperson of the Governing Body, providing a secured campus environment within the police residential area. The institution differentiates itself through academic track record (11th position in Dhaka Education Board SSC 2015, 16th in 2014, 10 students qualifying in the 2022 Medical Admission Test), co-curricular activities, and a network of subject-specific laboratories (ICT, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Home Science, Agriculture Science).

The technology stack is modest and partnership-driven rather than proprietary. The college operates an official website (spsc.edu.bd) as the primary communication platform, integrates with third-party vortibd.com for online admission (Class I to IX intake), and uses cloudcampus24.com for student authentication and academic record access. Fee collection is facilitated through bKash mobile banking and Community Bank Limited. The institution operates multimedia classrooms, a library, transport services, a cafeteria, and counseling facilities, alongside ~200 teaching staff.

The business model is a direct-to-consumer tuition-driven subscription model with no disclosed pricing. Revenue derives from recurring student tuition fees across the 12 grade levels, with payments collected through mobile banking and a partner bank. The go-to-market motion combines physical campus enrollment for walk-in admissions and online admission via third-party digital portals, supported by a Facebook presence and the official website as the top-of-funnel informational channels. The institution is not a venture-backed entity; it is structured as a state-affiliated educational body without private equity or venture capital involvement.
