Yoga Vidya Gurukul

What Yoga Vidya Gurukul does

Yoga Vidya Gurukul is a non-profit yoga education and therapy organization founded in 1978 by Yogacharya Dr. Vishwas Mandlik in Trimbak, Nasik, Maharashtra, India. It provides traditional Indian yoga teacher training and yoga therapy programs rooted in classical texts including Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Bhagavad Gita, and Upanishads, drawing on the spiritual lineage of Swami Satyananda's Bihar School of Yoga. The institution holds government recognition from the AYUSH Ministry as a Leading Yoga Institution, affiliation with YCMOU for Diploma courses, research recognition from the University of Pune, and authorization from the Yoga Certification Board to conduct Level II and Level III assessments.

The organization delivers both residential training at its 25-acre Vishwa Yoga Darshan ashram in Trimbak and online programs (launched August 2020) through a web platform and iOS/Android mobile apps, supplemented by recognized centers in 8+ countries and free content on YouTube. Course offerings span 100–250 hour programs covering teacher training, yoga therapy, pre/postnatal yoga, children's yoga, meditation, advanced pranayama, and Ayurveda. Specialized yoga therapy is delivered through two hospitals and twelve outpatient clinics across India, addressing conditions such as back problems, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, cancer, anxiety, and PTSD.

Revenue is generated through course fees, residential ashram lodging and boarding, online subscriptions, therapy services, and licensing/franchise arrangements with international recognized centers. Pricing varies by geography (e.g., USD $825 for the 250-hour international residential program vs. INR 30,000 for Indian participants; INR 12,500 for YCB Level II), with some programs offered on a donation basis. Since 1978, the organization claims to have trained 300,000+ yoga students worldwide and produced 18,000+ certified teachers in India and 4,500+ abroad across 78 countries.
