Club Balonmano Porriño

What Club Balonmano Porriño does

Club Balonmano Porriño is a member-supported Spanish handball club based in O Porriño, Galicia, structured as a multi-section entity operating 20+ teams from Benjamín through senior level under the presidency of Abel Estévez. Its senior women's team, branded Conservas Orbe Zendal BM Porriño, competes in the División de Honor Femenina Liga Guerreras Iberdrola and reached the EHF European Cup Final in 2024-2025 (finishing as runner-up). The club also won the Supercopa de Galicia 2025 and finished 4th in Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, establishing itself among the leading women's handball programs in Spain.

Revenue is generated through a diversified mix: a seven-tier membership structure (€30-€140 annually), match ticket sales (€4-€20 per match), merchandise sales via Hummel, and a sponsorship ecosystem of 100+ local businesses anchored by title sponsor Conservas Orbe Zendal alongside named partners Rubensa, Abanca, and Zendal. Distribution and engagement run through the Cluber ticketing/membership platform and a YouTube channel (3.2k subscribers, 900+ videos).

The club maintains a continuous youth academy (cantera) and runs the Escuela de Porteros Rubén Blanco & Nucho Cameselle, a specialist goalkeeper program supported by Olympique de Marseille goalkeeper Rubén Blanco in an ambassador role since 2019. Operations are lean, with 6 employees, reflecting a community-driven model rather than a commercially scaled sports business.
