Connaught Skating Club

What Connaught Skating Club does

Connaught Skating Club is a private, community-based figure skating club headquartered in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, affiliated with Skate Canada. It delivers a structured progression of figure skating programs built on Skate Canada's certified CanSkate "Learn to Skate" curriculum and extending through StarSkate Development, Junior Academy, Pairs, and Competitive tracks, alongside dedicated verticals for adult skaters and Special Olympic athletes with intellectual disabilities. The club operates as a non-commercial community organization, evidenced by its volunteer Board of Directors structure, mailing-address office footprint, and absence of disclosed revenue, headcount, or pricing data; enrollment is handled through a direct online registration system and supplemented by organic social channels (Instagram, Facebook).

The business model is a distributed, per-registration consumer model targeting individual skaters and families across all ages and ability levels. Go-to-market is locally focused on the Richmond, BC catchment with a published ice schedule serving as the operational hub. The club's strategic positioning rests on a core facility partnership with the Richmond Olympic Oval and mutual development partnerships with Burnaby, Whistler, and Cheam Skating Clubs, forming a regional British Columbia skating development network. Technology footprint is minimal — a Wix-hosted marketing site, standard online registration, and social media — with no proprietary technology beyond delivery of Skate Canada's standardized curriculum.
