Ephesus Baptist Church

What Ephesus Baptist Church does

Ephesus Baptist Church is a 501(c)-equivalent non-profit religious organization founded in 1874, operating as a Southern Baptist congregation in Villa Rica, Georgia. It is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Georgia Baptist Convention, and the West Metro Baptist Association, and adheres to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message doctrinal statement. The church runs two identical Sunday morning worship services (9:00am and 10:30am) plus a Sunday evening service and Wednesday evening programming, supported by 19 paid staff and a layered ministry stack covering birth-to-kindergarten (Foundation Station Preschool), grades 1-5 (Discovery 252), grades 6-12 (180 Student Ministries), and college-age young adults.

The core programmatic offering is a multi-generational discipleship and worship model: LifeGroups (10-30 person small groups organized by life stage), D-Groups (closed 3-5 person same-gender accountability groups), Music and Worship Ministry (Worship Choir, Praise Band, Praise Singers, Technical Ministry, C.R.E.W. 252 children's arts), a Grief Share support group, ESL classes, and an international missions program that has included Romania trips under the 'Rivers not Reservoirs' strategic framing. Underlying technology is commodity church-operations software rather than a proprietary platform: Realm by ACS Technologies handles registrations, member management, and online giving; a PCI-compliant online giving portal processes one-time and recurring tithes; and live streaming is distributed via the church website, Facebook, YouTube, and dedicated AppleTV and Roku apps.

The revenue model is voluntary tithes and offerings with no paid services and no public pricing — all ministry programs are offered free to participants, with giving captured in-person, by mail, via online bank transfer, or through the digital giving portal. Senior Pastor Billy Godwin has led the church since January 1993, growing it from a smaller family church to a regional congregation impacting West Georgia. No financial figures, attendance counts, or membership totals are disclosed in available sources.
