What Evang. Methodistische Kirche does
The Evangelisch-methodistische Kirche Bezirk Weinsberg ("EmK Weinsberg") is a single local congregation of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Germany (Evangelisch-methodistische Kirche Deutschland, EMK), itself affiliated with the worldwide United Methodist Church (UMC). It operates from the Christuskirche venue at Bleich 38, 74189 Weinsberg, Baden-Württemberg, under the pastoral leadership of Peter Wittenzellner, with a reported headcount of approximately 5 (including Pastor Wittenzellner and Webmaster Jörg Gittinger). Core offerings consist of a weekly Sunday worship service at 10:00 AM delivered both in-person and via a Zoom livestream (meeting ID 63025296717), supplemented by a program of youth events (truestory-Nights, TeenNight overnight), an annual children's program (GraviTrax Kindertage), a brass choir (Posaunenchor), praise music workshops (Lobpreiswerkstatt Mut-Tankstelle), and senior fellowship gatherings.
The congregation's technology footprint centers on the EmK Weinsberg mobile app, built on the third-party CommuniApp church-engagement platform and distributed via Google Play and Apple App Store, which centralizes event listings, sermon recordings, and group communication. Supporting tooling includes Microsoft Forms for event registration and amosWEB (used by partner Ev. Jugendwerk) for event management. The venue itself is wheelchair-accessible.
EmK Weinsberg operates as a nonprofit religious organization under German church law, with no commercial pricing. Funding is derived exclusively from voluntary tithes and donations by congregation members, deposited into a disclosed bank account (IBAN DE83 6205 0000 0013 7912 58). The congregation maintains hierarchical denominational affiliations with EMK (Germany) and UMC (global), and operational partnerships with the local Ev. Jugendwerk Weinsberg for joint youth programming.
