Unesp - Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia

What Unesp - Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia does

Unesp - Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT) is a campus of the Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP), a public state university system owned and operated by the Government of São Paulo, Brazil. The Câmpus de Presidente Prudente is located in the western region of São Paulo state (Rua Roberto Simonsen, 305 - Centro Educacional, CEP 19060-900) and delivers tuition-free undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs in sciences and technology, alongside academic research and public community services.

The campus operates as a node within a unified UNESP digital platform ecosystem. The core product is Portal Unesp (v2.9.5), a centralized content management system serving as the institutional hub. This is supplemented by a portfolio of sub-products: Geoportal Unesp (geographic information system portal), TV UNESP (video streaming), UNESP FM (audio broadcasting), Portal Alumni (graduate networking), Acervo Digital Unesp (digital repository), and Portal Docentes (faculty management portal). Supporting systems include Sistemas Online, EDUROAM wireless connectivity, VPN access, and Webmail. The institution integrates Google Analytics for access statistics and maintains LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) compliance via documented privacy policies.

The business model is that of a tuition-free public state university: no commercial pricing model exists; primary funding flows from government budget allocations from the State of São Paulo, supplemented by research grants managed through partner foundations (Editora Unesp, Fundunesp, Fundação Vunesp). Customer segments include students admitted via the annual Vestibular da UNESP entrance examination, the academic research community, and the regional general public served through extension programs (notably UNESP Saúde and NUMIS). The entity has no commercial revenue, no private funding rounds, no headcount growth data, and no M&A activity — consistent with its status as a government state entity rather than a commercial enterprise.
