Federación Deportiva Del Guayas

What Federación Deportiva Del Guayas does

Federación Deportiva del Guayas (Fedeguayas) is a provincial sports federation founded in 1922 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, recognized as the oldest sports institution in the country. It governs 47 sports disciplines across Guayas province — Ecuador's most populous — and serves as the official administrative authority for affiliated clubs, cantonal leagues, and athletes, producing competitors who reach South American, Pan American, and World Championship levels. Revenue is generated through facility rentals (Olympic-standard swimming pools, stadiums, athletics tracks, and indoor arenas across 10+ complexes), paid training programs (vacational courses, sports camps, permanent courses), the Taurusgym fitness subscription, and athlete welfare services (Bienestar Deportivo) that include scholarships, medical examinations, physiotherapy, and accident insurance.

The federation's core technology is a standard web platform with e-commerce functionality and electronic invoicing (Facturación Electrónica), supporting online sales and billing for its service offerings. Distribution is exclusively direct: consumers register on-site at facilities for training programs or contact the federation to rent pools and venues. Marketing is event-driven, anchored by signature recurring events including the Regata de Yolas Guayaquil-Posorja (78 editions since 1940, run jointly with the Asociación Provincial de Remo del Guayas) and the annual anniversary month, supported by a YouTube channel (FedeGuayas TV) and social media. The organization operates as a self-sustaining sports institution with 57 employees, no disclosed parent company, no venture or private equity funding, and no public listing; the website indicates active operations through 2026.
