First 4 Sameday Ltd

What First 4 Sameday Ltd does

First 4 Sameday Ltd is a UK-based same-day courier service provider headquartered in Newhaven, England, operating nationwide across the United Kingdom. The company offers a comprehensive range of same-day delivery services built around three core products: same-day parcel courier, same-day pallet delivery, and same-day dedicated loads using vehicles from 7.5 tonne trucks to articulated lorries. This core offering is supplemented by vertical-specific services targeting healthcare (NHS Trusts, private hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories), aviation (AOG emergencies and aircraft parts), automotive parts (garages, dealerships, fleet operators), construction (site-to-site and out-of-hours), and eBay sellers requiring large or fragile item handling. The fleet capability spans motorbikes for urgent documents through to articulated lorries for full loads, with all services delivered door-to-door without transhipping through depots.

The underlying technology is a real-time track and trace system with electronic proof of delivery available across all consignments, which the company describes as industry-leading. The service operates 24 hours a day with a stated collection target of within one hour of contact for urgent requests, supported by out-of-hours and bank holiday availability. The business model is purely transactional, with quote-based pricing determined per delivery based on vehicle type, distance, weight, dimensions, urgency, and nature of goods; no public pricing tiers or contract terms are disclosed. The go-to-market is sales-led and direct, using phone (0800 508 8366), email, and an online quote request form, with no self-service booking, no marketplace presence, and no third-party distribution. The company is privately held with 5 employees, leverages 50+ years of combined industry experience across its team, and has no disclosed funding, no parent company, and no identified institutional investors.

Direct peers

• Speed Couriers (National Same Day): UK same-day courier specialising in urgent and time-critical deliveries across multiple verticals. Competes head-to-head on 1-hour collection style SLAs and nationwide coverage.

• CitySprint: UK's largest same-day courier network offering 4-hour, same-day and immediate collections nationwide. Most directly comparable competitor — same service mix, same customer types, same UK footprint — but at materially larger scale.
• Tuffnells Parcels Express: UK specialist in parcel, pallet and freight delivery with a strong B2B franchise. Closely comparable on product mix (parcels + pallets) and target customer segments.
• AOG Logistics (Aircraft on Ground couriers): Specialist AOG and aerospace parts courier serving UK and European airports. Directly comparable on the aviation/AOG service line that First 4 Sameday markets.
• Rapid Same Day: UK same-day courier offering urgent parcel, document and pallet deliveries nationwide. Direct same-day courier competitor with comparable vehicle range and SLA positioning.

Broad incumbents

• DHL Same Day (DHL Express UK): Global integrator with a UK same-day and time-critical service. Overlaps on urgent B2B and AOG-style work but as part of a much broader international express portfolio rather than a UK-focused niche.
• Addison Lee (Couriers & Same Day): London-anchored courier and same-day delivery provider with national reach via partner networks. Comparable on urgent courier work but with a stronger London/private-hire DNA.
• Hermes / Evri: Major UK parcel network. Not a same-day specialist but a broad incumbent whose parcel and large-item services compete with First 4 Sameday for eBay/retail volume.
