What FotbollDirekt does
FotbollDirekt is a Swedish-language digital sports media platform operated by Digital Sportsmedia i Norden AB, focused exclusively on football (soccer) coverage with primary emphasis on Swedish domestic competitions. Founded in 2007 and headquartered at Norrlandsgatan 11, Stockholm, the platform covers Allsvenskan, Superettan, Damallsvenskan, Swedish national teams, and major international tournaments including the World Cup and European Championship. The site is structured around per-team and per-player pages, a Silly Season transfer-news vertical, a real-time Livescore service, a Video section, and a World Cup simulator/predictor, supported by an editorial team of five that leverages AI-assisted text generation (human QA'd) to scale news output.
The business model combines consumer-facing free content with a "Plus" subscription tier sold through Better Collective's commerce platform (shop.plus-bc.com), advertising, and a commercial partnership with sports-betting platform Rekatochklast. Content distribution is primarily web-based with amplification through Google News, optimizing for organic search-driven traffic from Swedish football audiences. The platform does not operate native mobile apps, public APIs, or partner integrations.
FotbollDirekt is a subsidiary/affiliated entity within the Better Collective group, a publicly listed sports betting media company. The operation functions as a focused, niche Swedish-football content vertical inside that portfolio rather than as an independent venture-backed entity — no funding rounds, public listing, or independent ownership are disclosed. The site's 18+ year operating history represents its principal defensible asset in the form of brand recognition, content archives, and accumulated SEO authority within the Swedish football content niche.
