What Just Right Design Sdn. Bhd does

Just Right Design Sdn. Bhd. (JRD) is a privately-held Malaysian landscape architecture consultancy founded in 2008, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur with regional offices in Johor Bahru and Singapore, and project presence in Vietnam. The firm provides professional landscape architectural services across four core verticals: residential developments (condominiums, housing estates such as Damansara Foresta, O2 Residence, and Sky Condominium), institutional and hospitality projects (hotels, hospitals, international schools including Weil Hotel, Dorsett Hotels, and ReGen Rehabilitation Hospital), parks and gallery spaces (public parks and sales galleries such as M Gallery and Southville Park), and master planning engagements.

JRD's service offering centers on landscape planning, master planning, urban design, and environmental study services, delivered through customized detailed plans that integrate multiple design options aligned with client concepts, budgets, and architectural requirements. The firm's underlying technology and methodology is grounded in a nature-inspired design philosophy, with capabilities spanning sustainable planning, environmental integration, and BIM-enabled drafting (evidenced by the in-house BIM Senior Draft Person role). JRD also maintains 3D rendering capabilities in-house. The firm has accumulated 14+ industry awards between 2012 and 2019, including IFLA AAPME, Asia Pacific Property Awards, China Yuen Ye Awards, and Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards, signaling recognized design quality.

Revenue is generated through project-based professional services fees negotiated per engagement with enterprise clients — primarily property developers (Country Garden, Puteri Harbour), hospitality operators (Dorsett, Weil Hotel), educational institutions (UTAR, Sri Bestari), and healthcare providers (ReGen Rehabilitation). JRD goes to market through direct client engagement rather than a formalized sales channel, supported by an active website, earned media coverage in industry publications (CHLA, Landezine, Property Insight, Construction Plus Asia), and word-of-mouth within Malaysia's property development ecosystem. With 13 employees, the firm operates as a boutique consultancy rather than a scaled platform business.
