What Kelvin Grove State College OSHC does
Kelvin Grove State College OSHC is the Outside School Hours Care service operated by the Kelvin Grove State College Parents and Citizens Association (KGSC P&C), a volunteer-run non-profit organization based in Kelvin Grove, Queensland, Australia. The OSHC provides before school care (6:30am–8:55am), after school care (3:00pm–6:00pm), and vacation/pupil-free day care (6:30am–6:00pm) on the KGSC campus at 25 L'Estrange Terrace, serving families whose children are enrolled at the school.
The service is one of several ancillary businesses managed by the KGSC P&C, alongside a Junior Tuckshop, Senior Tuckshop, and SUB Shop (school uniforms and books). The tuckshops and SUB Shop accept online orders via the third-party Qkr! platform. All services are delivered on-campus, with no external distribution. The organization employs approximately 5 people, is governed by an elected volunteer Executive Committee, and generates revenue that is reinvested into college facilities and educational programs rather than distributed as profit. The operating model is community-based, with membership open to parents and citizens of the school community.
