MECHANICSBURG BRETHREN IN CHRIST CHURCH

What MECHANICSBURG BRETHREN IN CHRIST CHURCH does

Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church (McBIC) is a non-profit religious congregation located at 1050 S. York Street, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, affiliated with the Brethren in Christ U.S. denomination. The church serves a multi-generational community through two Sunday morning worship services (9:30 and 11 a.m.), with a summer consolidated schedule, and offers online worship via Facebook live stream and sermon recordings distributed on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. McBIC operates age-structured ministry programs spanning children (McBIC Kids), middle and high school youth, women, and men, alongside dedicated prayer, adult discipleship, and pastoral care ministries.

McBIC's core programmatic offerings include the AROMA All-Sports Camp for ages 7–12 ($250 per camper), a Women's Retreat ($120–$255 per attendee based on occupancy), ticketed community events such as a Harrisburg Senators outing ($15 per person), and recurring programs including Bible studies, men's breakfasts, and service trips. The technical stack is lean and consumer-grade: a Squarespace-hosted website, Church Center for event registration and online giving, Mailchimp for the weekly Communique newsletter, and standard social media platforms. The congregation does not charge for worship services and does not publish financial information.

The church's revenue model is based on free-will tithes and offerings from its members, supplemented by nominal fees for programs, camps, and events. Community outreach is a meaningful operational pillar, exemplified by Operation Wildcat, which has raised more than $385,000 since 2007 through annual indoor yard sales to benefit Mechanicsburg Area School District families in need, and by support for Peace Promise, an anti-sex-trafficking ministry. McBIC maintains institutional partnerships with Brethren in Christ U.S., Messiah University, Salt 'n Light Youth Ministry, and various regional churches and retreat venues, but operates as a single-campus, locally-focused congregation with no geographic expansion plans evident.
