What My babysitter does
My Babysitter (הבייביסיטר שלי), operating under the legal entity הורות (Parenting), is a private Israeli online marketplace that connects families seeking childcare and adult care with babysitters, nannies, au pairs, and senior caregivers. The platform is headquartered at 41 Yigal Yadin Street in Modi'in, Israel, and operates a self-serve website (mybabysitter.co.il) available in Hebrew and English. Families use a profile-based search engine to filter and contact candidates, while caregivers publish profiles or browse a job board for openings; the platform also publishes an Info Center of roughly a dozen educational articles on childcare selection, interviewing, and cost management.
The underlying technology is a web-based matching platform with candidate profile pages, a multi-criteria search/filter engine driven by standardized questionnaire responses, and a trust-and-safety verification layer. Every new candidate receives a phone verification call from the site within 24 hours of registration, and families can optionally purchase deeper background checks including handwriting analysis and placement testing. There is no native mobile app, no public API, and no documented AI/ML matching; integration surface is limited to Google Analytics and legacy social login (Facebook, Google+, Twitter).
The business model appears to be a consumer marketplace with implicit listing/placement monetization, augmented by the paid Background Check Services add-on; specific pricing and commission rates are not publicly disclosed. The customer base is entirely long-tail consumers in Israel, with no enterprise or B2B accounts, no investors, no parent company, no M&A activity, and no disclosed funding. Headcount is approximately 5, the company is independently operated, and growth signals beyond the existing single-country footprint are minimal.
