What Peruvian Park Elementary Schl does

Peruvian Park Elementary School is a public K-5 elementary school operated by Canyons School District and located in Sandy, Utah. Founded in 1964 and relocated to a new campus at 11150 S Vista Way in April 2021, the school serves families residing within its assigned attendance boundaries as well as transfer students admitted through the district's school choice permit process (open enrollment beginning November 15 annually). Its core offering is a comprehensive kindergarten-through-fifth-grade academic program enhanced by district-level services including dual language immersion, advanced learner pathways, digital citizenship curriculum, and a school-based telehealth service delivered through an Intermountain Health partnership announced September 30, 2024 to address chronic absenteeism.

The school runs on a district-standard technology stack: Canvas for learning management, Skyward for student information and gradebook, and ClassLink as a single sign-on resource dashboard, supplemented by Follett Destiny for library management, Sora for eBook/audiobook lending, Nutrislice for lunch menus, Peachjar for digital flyers, SafeUT for crisis and bullying support, World Book Encyclopedia for reference content, and SWANK Streaming for educational video. Community engagement is operated through the PTA, the elected School Community Council, and district-coordinated events such as Canyons District Nights with Real Salt Lake. The school is led by Principal Divya Nagpal.

As a government entity, Peruvian Park is funded through Utah state education allocations, local property taxes, and federal education programs, and does not charge in-district tuition; optional programs and services carry fees administered under the district's fee schedule. The school has been consistently recognized in Niche.com's 2025 rankings — No. 2 in Canyons School District and among the top 25 elementary schools in the Greater Salt Lake Area — and was named one of 28 Canyons District schools to earn the 'Best in Utah' distinction. Parent entity Canyons School District is undergoing a leadership transition with Superintendent Dr. Rick L. Robins retiring effective June 30, 2026 and Dr. McKay Robinson appointed as the fifth Superintendent.
