Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church

What Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church does

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church is a Missionary Baptist congregation founded in 1924 and located at 977 Chase Street, Gary, Indiana. The church is led by Pastor Rev. Charles E. Adams, Jr. and serves the local Gary, Indiana community through a defined weekly service schedule: Sunday School at 9:30 AM, Sunday Worship Service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday Prayer Meeting and Bible Study at 10:00 AM, and Wednesday Prayer Meeting and Bible Study at 7:00 PM. The congregation's mission is to guide people of all backgrounds into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as stated on the church's website.

The church's product surface is centered on religious services and ministry programs: weekly worship services, Bible study, prayer meetings, pastoral counseling, sermon recordings, online prayer requests, and salvation resources. The underlying technology stack is minimal — a website (pilgrimrestmb.org) providing sermon archives, event announcements, and church information, supplemented by a Pushpay integration for online digital giving. There are no proprietary technology products, no applications, and no digital platform of any material scale. The website and online giving are the only non-in-person service delivery channels.

The business model is donation-based. Revenue is generated entirely through voluntary contributions from congregants and the community, broken across three streams: (1) traditional tithes and offerings collected during worship services, (2) online giving via the Pushpay platform, and (3) special event donations for purposes such as anniversary celebrations, scholarship funds, and ministry programs. There is no pricing for services; all worship services are free and open to the community. The church operates as a nonprofit religious institution under Indiana state law, governed by its membership under pastoral leadership, with no parent company, holding entity, or institutional investor ownership.
