SARP Stowarzyszenie Architektów Polskich Oddział Poznań

What SARP Stowarzyszenie Architektów Polskich Oddział Poznań does

SARP Oddział Poznań is the Poznań chapter of Stowarzyszenie Architektów Polskich (SARP), the Association of Polish Architects, founded nationally in 1920 with the Poznań branch operating since at least 1976. It is a private non-profit professional association (Stowarzyszenie) headquartered at Stary Rynek 56 in Poznań, serving licensed architects practicing in the Greater Poland (Wielkopolskie) voivodeship, architecture students at regional universities, and local government bodies that commission architectural competitions. The organization is not a technology company; its underlying "product" is an organized community infrastructure built around competitions, awards, lectures, workshops, walks, and exhibitions.

The association runs a portfolio of branded programs including the NAWW (Nagroda Architektoniczna Województwa Wielkopolskiego) regional architecture award launched in 2020 with the Wielkopolska Okręgowa Izba Architektów RP, the Quadro award with the City of Poznań, the 46-edition Czarnecki student competition, ZBUDOWANE architectural walks, the Nowy Plan festival, Estrada w Centrum, KOTY(dź) international design-build workshops, SARP U40 for young architects, and PROJEKTOR film screenings. It co-organizes public architecture competitions (Akademia Muzyczna, Wielkopolskie Centrum Onkologii, Muzeum Okręgowe w Koninie, Jowita, and the "Wielka płyta na nowo" national competition). Marketing and distribution run through the poznan.sarp.pl website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, email, and physical events.

The revenue model is dual-track: recurring annual membership dues (składki członkowskie) supplemented by event and workshop participation fees (e.g., 500–1,050 PLN per attendee for workshops in Żnin, with member discounts). Sponsorship income from material partners such as Cosentino, Aliplast, and Baumit (NAWW 2026) and media patronage from Architektura & Biznes add a third funding layer. The association operates with a very lean staff of approximately 5, relying heavily on volunteer governance (Board, Review Committee, Jury College, Disciplinary Court) and member-led activity. No proprietary technology platform, app, or API exists; the technology footprint is limited to standard website, social media, and online competition submission forms.

• SARP Zarząd Główny: National headquarters of the Polish Architects' Association — the parent governance body of which SARP Poznań is a regional chapter. Sets national-level policy and member programs while delegating regional operations to chapters like Poznań.

Regional players

• SARP Oddział Warszawa: Warsaw chapter of the same parent SARP organization, serving architects in the Masovian voivodeship. Operates with the same chapter structure, competitions, and member services as SARP Poznań but in a different regional market.
• SARP Oddział Wrocław: Wrocław chapter of SARP serving Lower Silesian architects. Runs the same competition, awards, and event programming model in a different regional territory; co-organizes Golf Archi Cup with SARP Poznań.
• SARP Oddział Kraków: Kraków chapter of SARP, explicitly named alongside SARP Poznań in joint architectural competitions (e.g., SARP nr 1097 and 1098 for Kraków housing). Parallel organization structure operating in Lesser Poland voivodeship.
• Towarzystwo Urbanistów Polskich: Polish national professional association for urban planners. Co-organizes Urbanist Day during BUDMA trade fair with SARP Poznań, serving an adjacent design profession with parallel advocacy, events, and member-services structure.

Broad incumbents

• Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA): UK chartered professional body for architects — established incumbent playing the same role SARP Poznań does at the regional level, but with national scope, chartered status, and a much wider portfolio (validation, awards, policy).
• Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA): German federation of architects — comparable professional body for German architects with chapters analogous to SARP Poznań, focused on advocacy, awards, and architectural quality discourse at regional and national levels.
• American Institute of Architects (AIA): The US national professional association for licensed architects — a much larger, established functional equivalent of SARP, running member advocacy, awards, continuing education, and competitions for ~95,000 members across all US states.

Direct peers

• Wielkopolska Okręgowa Izba Architektów RP (WOIA RP): The regional chamber of architects for Wielkopolskie voivodeship, serving the same architect population as SARP Poznań from a mandatory-membership regulatory perspective. Co-organizes the NAWW award with SARP Poznań since 2020, but otherwise parallels SARP Poznań's events, advocacy, and member services.
