Renaissance Design & Renovation

What Renaissance Design & Renovation does

Renaissance Design & Renovation is a privately held, full-service residential design and build renovation firm headquartered in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, serving the Greater Milwaukee area. Founded in 2009 by co-founders Jody Ryg and Kris Bilty, the company operates with a seven-person team and focuses on kitchen, bathroom, and specialty room renovations for individual homeowners. Its service model integrates architectural design, interior design, and construction execution under a single engagement, distinguishing it from firms that hand off between separate design and build entities.

The firm's execution capability rests on an in-house team of architects, designers, and artisans, supplemented by curated trade partnerships with Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry, Subzero/Wolf appliances, and Pieces Into Place. These partnerships anchor the firm in the premium segment of the residential renovation market, where project tickets, material specifications, and finish expectations are higher than mass-market remodel work. The firm has secured regional press coverage across Biz Times, Lakeshore Living, GM Today, and MKE Lifestyle, and uses Instagram as a digital marketing channel.

Renaissance Design & Renovation generates revenue through project-based contracts with individual homeowners in a single metropolitan market. There is no disclosed enterprise, commercial, or multi-site customer base, no external funding, and no recurring SaaS or platform component to the business. The "limited capacity" messaging on company materials indicates demand is intentionally constrained by team size rather than scaled through subcontracting expansion, which shapes both its growth posture and its revenue predictability.
