What Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthans B.C.S. Science College, Pune does

Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthan's B.C.S. Science College is a private, non-profit higher education institution located in Akurdi, Pune, operated by Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society. The college delivers undergraduate and postgraduate education in Computer Science, offering B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University. Its student body is drawn primarily from the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad catchment, with commuter access supported by its proximity to Akurdi Railway Station.

The institution's operational backbone includes an ERP system and a dedicated admissions portal used for the annual intake cycle. It holds NAAC accreditation at the B+ grade level (CGPA 2.63 on the four-point scale), validating baseline quality standards, and participates in the NIRF 2026 ranking process for external benchmarking. Curriculum is governed by the affiliating university's syllabus framework, with the college responsible for delivery, faculty, and student support services. An on-campus AI Conference suggests nascent awareness of artificial intelligence as a curriculum theme, though it does not yet constitute an AI-integrated offering.

The business model is tuition-driven and operates on a non-profit society structure under the parent Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society. Revenue mechanics consist of per-student academic fees plus ancillary charges (examination, ERP, certificates), with no disclosed corporate contracts, research grants, or diversified revenue streams. The model is inherently seasonal, dependent on the annual admissions cycle, with approximately 52 employees supporting delivery across both programs. No public financial disclosures are available, limiting visibility into margin profile and reinvestment capacity.
