St. John Vianney Catholic Parish

What St. John Vianney Catholic Parish does

St. John Vianney Catholic Parish is a non-profit Catholic parish and affiliated school located at 539 E. La Pasada Blvd. in Goodyear, Arizona, founded in 1956 and employing 43 staff. The parish serves Catholic families and individuals in the Goodyear and West Valley area, delivering worship services, sacraments, faith formation, and community outreach. Core offerings include daily and weekly Mass (seven weekend services across English and Spanish), Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, Baptism preparation, Religious Education for the 2026-2027 school year, Sacramental Records, and an affiliated K-8 school. Parish ministries span Music Ministry, Youth Ministry, Legion of Mary, Bible study groups, and women's and men's fellowships, with bilingual programming throughout.

The parish operates a community-led go-to-market model relying on word-of-mouth, in-Mass announcements, and organic social media presence (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) rather than paid advertising. Technology stack is functional rather than differentiated: Pushpay powers digital giving, JotForm handles registration and sacramental records workflows, GoFMX manages internal operations, and QR codes on bulletins link to online forms. Community service programs include a food pantry operating Tuesday-Saturday with morning and evening windows, and a parish partner relationship with Andre House of Hospitality supporting homeless services in downtown Phoenix.

Revenue is generated through voluntary tithes and offerings from congregation members, collected via weekly envelopes and the Pushpay digital giving platform; no formal pricing exists as services are provided at no charge. The parish operates under Catholic Church governance through the pastor and Diocese of Phoenix, with no external investor ownership. A local Knights of Columbus Council (Avondale Council 4737) with 67+ years of history is hosted at the parish, and formation of a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court is underway.
