What Софийска професионална гимназия по електроника "Джон Атанасов" (SPGE "John Atanasov") does

Софийска професионална гимназия по електроника "Джон Атанасов" (SPGE "John Atanasov") is a public professional gymnasium (secondary school) located in the Izgrev district of Sofia City, Bulgaria. Founded in 1968 and named after John Atanasov, the Bulgarian-American computer scientist credited as a pioneer of the electronic digital computer, the institution delivers specialized secondary education with a focus on electronics. Its core offering is a technical curriculum covering electronics theory and practice, intended to prepare students for either higher education in technical fields or direct entry into the electronics industry.

The school operates as a publicly funded educational institution within Bulgaria's secondary education system rather than as a commercial entity. It serves a defined primary customer segment — secondary education students pursuing an electronics specialization — and does not disclose pricing, marketing, or distribution channels consistent with a public school model. The core technology stack, proprietary features, and digital product offerings are not documented in available source material; the school's website (https://spge-bg.com/) is referenced but the underlying source page is a loading/verification screen with no substantive operational content.

With only nine listed employees (likely a small administrative and teaching core), the institution operates at a modest scale typical of specialized public gymnasiums. There is no disclosed revenue, ownership structure, parent organization, funding history, partnerships, awards, regulatory actions, or management team information in the source data. The institution's value proposition rests on its specialized electronics curriculum, its 50+ year operating history, and its namesake association with John Atanasov, rather than on commercial differentiators or proprietary technology.
