St. Joseph's Catholic Parish

What St. Joseph's Catholic Parish does

St. Joseph's Catholic Parish is a religious nonprofit operating in Kingswood, NSW, Australia, founded in 1970 as an offshoot of the Penrith Parish under the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta. It serves a defined geographic catchment spanning Kingswood, Cambridge Park, Cambridge Gardens, Werrington, Werrington Downs, Werrington County, Jordan Springs, and part of Caddens. The parish is staffed by 45 employees and operated spiritually by the Polish Province of the Order of Preachers (Dominican Fathers) since January 2013, with Fr. Andrew Fornal OP serving as the fourth Parish Priest alongside Fr. Pawel Barszczewski OP and Fr. Piotr Kruk OP.

The parish delivers the standard Catholic sacramental and liturgical portfolio: daily and Sunday Mass, Reconciliation, Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation, supported by Sacramental Preparation Programs requiring parent attendance. Supplementary programming includes parish ministries (St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Women's League, RCIA, RCIC, Special Religious Education in schools, Prayer Groups, Liturgy Ministry, Altar Servers), Eucharistic Adoration, a Young Adult Group for ages 18–35, and recurring community events such as the Parish Food Festival. Operational infrastructure consists of a WordPress website, weekly PDF bulletins archived since 2012, online donation rails via bpoint.com.au (Visa/MasterCard) and direct bank transfer, and WhatsApp-based group communication.

The business model is non-commercial and donation-funded. Revenue derives from regular parishioner giving, sacramental program contributions, and Diocesan allocations, with no disclosed commercial products, pricing tiers, or fee-for-service revenue lines. Financial information is not publicly disclosed. Operating geography is restricted to New South Wales, and the entity is wholly embedded within the institutional Catholic ecosystem of the Diocese of Parramatta.
