Synchron Stage Vienna

What Synchron Stage Vienna does

Synchron Stage Vienna operates a world-class orchestral recording facility in Vienna, Austria, housed in the historic Synchronhalle building originally constructed in the 1940s as part of "Film City Vienna" and renovated 2013-2015 by Walters-Storyk Design Group and Schneider+Schumacher. The facility comprises a 540 m² Stage A accommodating up to 130 musicians with a 16 dB(A) noise floor, a 115 m² Control Room A equipped with an SSL Duality Pro-Station Delta console and Pro Tools HDX systems (up to 768 tracks at 48kHz), Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D certification, and over 2,000 m² of total premises. Core products include the Vienna Synchron Orchestra (founded 2016), Vienna Synchron Choir, Vienna Boys Choir, and Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen, supplemented by services such as Mixing & Mastering, Remote Sessions via Zoom/AudioMovers, Shared Sessions, Instrument Rentals, and Videography.

The facility is operated jointly by Vienna Symphonic Library GmbH and Synchron Stage OG under Managing Director Herbert Tucmandl. Tight integration with parent VSL's proprietary software — notably Vienna MIR Pro 3D room simulation — enables a unified live-and-virtual orchestral workflow. Customers include Marvel Studios, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount, Lucasfilm, Warner Bros., Tencent Games, KRAFTON, NetEase, and Epic Games, spanning Hollywood film, streaming TV, and AAA gaming. Revenue is generated primarily through professional services — per-session orchestra bookings at €4,055-€5,450 per hour, plus mixing, rentals, and emerging Shared Sessions — with a relationship-driven enterprise GTM managed by four project coordinators and supplemented by remote collaboration and academic channel partnerships.
