What True North Remodeling does
True North Remodeling is a Maryland-based residential home improvement contractor founded in 2018 by Bruce Pugh and Anthony DeVita. The company provides roofing, siding, windows, gutters, fences, decks, kitchen, bathroom, basement, and interior redesign services to homeowners in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, operating from a single headquarters in Millersville, MD under Maryland Home Improvement Commission license #136791. It holds the GAF Master Elite Contractor certification — a credential held by only 2% of North American roofing contractors — and works with branded product lines including GAF roofing systems, Vytex Windows, Alside Siding, and proprietary RainPro seamless gutters.
The business is differentiated by a no-subcontracting labor model, founder-led customer engagement, and an insurance claim assistance service that guides homeowners through storm-damage claims so qualifying roofs can be replaced at no out-of-pocket cost. Revenue is generated primarily through one-time, project-based contracts priced individually by scope, supplemented by a standardized $199 Roof Tune-Up maintenance service that functions as a low-friction entry point. The go-to-market motion is direct-to-consumer, relying on free roof inspections, on-site consultations, Google Reviews, Facebook, referrals, and door-to-door outreach to drive top-of-funnel demand.
True North Remodeling is a privately held LLC with no venture capital or private equity backing and a headcount of approximately 16 employees. The company does not operate an app, API, or proprietary software platform; it competes on craftsmanship, certification, and customer service rather than technology. Pricing is mostly quote-based and not publicly disclosed, and customer testimonials highlight responsiveness, transparency, and end-to-end project management as recurring strengths.
