Ukrainian Golf Federation

What Ukrainian Golf Federation does

The Ukrainian Golf Federation (UGF) is the national governing body for golf in Ukraine, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Kyiv. It operates as a non-profit sports federation recognized by the International Golf Federation (IGF), the European Golf Association (EGA), and The R&A, under the oversight of the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. With a 14-person core staff, the federation serves amateur golfers, professional golfers, golf clubs, women, juniors, families, beginners, and people with disabilities through a coordinated set of national programs, tournaments, and inclusive development initiatives.

The federation's core operational scope includes running the WHS and EGA handicap systems, organizing national championships (Ukrainian Cup, Open Championships), the Open Golf Tour, Open Ladies Golf Tour, Family Golf Tour, and Junior Tour, and certifying PGA of Ukraine professionals and referees. It officially recognizes and coordinates five affiliated golf clubs (Superior GC, GolfStream GC, Kozyn GC, H CLUB, Edem Golf Club) plus nine inclusive golf activator centers operating across 13+ regions. Since 2018, UGF has built a differentiated inclusive golf vertical covering deaf, wheelchair, veteran, and visually impaired segments, formalized through a 2020-2024 Strategic Plan for Disabled Golf and a memorandum with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

UGF's revenue model is built on subscription-style membership fees from golfers and clubs, transaction-based tournament entry fees, and PGA of Ukraine certification fees, supplemented by commercial sponsorships (Porsche Ukraine, Morshynska, Edem Resort) and grant funding from international bodies including the Ryder Cup European Development Trust. Its go-to-market is community-led: programs are delivered through the affiliated club network, golf simulator centers, Invasport regional centers, and the website (ukrgolf.org). Marketing relies on the website, email newsletters, Instagram, Facebook, and Telegram channels, with tournament events functioning as the primary member-acquisition mechanism.
