CHRIST CHURCH UNITY OF SAN DIEGO

What CHRIST CHURCH UNITY OF SAN DIEGO does

Unity San Diego, formally operating as Christ Church Unity of San Diego (dba Unity San Diego), is a nonprofit spiritual community affiliated with the broader Unity movement (unity.org) and based at 3770 Altadena Ave in San Diego, California. The organization delivers in-person Sunday worship services at its Sanctuary, supplemented by livestreamed services via Facebook Live and archived videos on a dedicated YouTube channel (@unitysandiego81). Its programmatic surface spans five core ministries — Youth, Prayer, Spanish-Speaking, Music, and the Everlasting Serenity Spiritual Recovery Ministry — alongside educational classes and events, a bimonthly 'Faith For Today' newsletter, and a small retail operation (Rebecca's Corner). The leadership team comprises three credentialed ministers (Rev. Karla Lightner, Rev. Blair Tabor, Rev. Gretchen Peña) plus part-time coordinators for outreach and youth programs, supported by a total disclosed headcount of six.

The organization operates a multi-tenant campus ecosystem that extends its footprint beyond direct programming. Hosted tenants include City Heights Music School, the El Jardin community arts and event space, a Head Start preschool operated by the Neighborhood House Association, and multiple 12-step recovery programs (Al-Anon, AA, NA). Outreach partnerships with the Interfaith Shelter Network of San Diego (El Nido transitional housing sponsorship), Feeding San Diego (monthly food distribution), and Angel Tree (annual Christmas gifts for children of incarcerated parents) embed the church in the local social services network of the City Heights neighborhood.

Unity San Diego is funded entirely by voluntary donations and tithes from its congregation, collected in person and through a PayPal donation link on its Squarespace-hosted website (unitysandiego.org). The organization does not disclose financial figures, pricing, or membership counts. No commercial product lines, paid services, or investment funding are present in the data; the entity is a privately operated, donation-supported religious institution with affiliation to but no disclosed controlling ownership from the parent Unity organization.
