Great Hearts Academies - Veritas Preparatory

What Great Hearts Academies - Veritas Preparatory does

Veritas Preparatory Academy (Veritas Prep) is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades 6-12 in Phoenix, Arizona. It is the flagship and first campus of the Great Hearts Academies network, founded in 2003, and is located at 3102 N. 56th Street in the Arcadia neighborhood. The school delivers a classical liberal arts curriculum grounded in Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, including Humane Letters seminars, Euclid-based geometry, an honors-level high school sequence, and four years of classical language instruction (Latin, Greek, French, Spanish).

The school's core product is its classical education program, supplemented by a College Counseling Office, a competitive Athletics program (Falcons), and extracurricular activities including award-winning Mock Trial teams. Its underlying technology is pedagogical and content-based rather than software-based: proprietary classical curriculum and instructional methods, delivered in-person and through a single online application portal (greathearts.schoolaxis.com). There are no AI/ML, API, or platform products described.

Veritas Prep operates as a nonprofit public charter organization funded by Arizona per-pupil state allocations rather than tuition, with approximately 30 staff. Enrollment is direct-to-consumer, requiring families to apply through the online portal and participate in virtual or in-person tours. Outcomes are a primary value proposition: the Class of 2025 reported nearly $7 million in merit scholarships and an average SAT of 1253 (+225 over the national mean), and the school's regional rankings (Niche, Phoenix Business Journal) and sustained National Merit Finalist production signal durable academic outcomes.
