Unity Church of Christianity

What Unity Church of Christianity does

Unity of Houston, doing business as Unity Church of Christianity, is a private nonprofit religious organization affiliated with the Unity movement and the broader New Thought tradition. It operates from a single multi-building campus at 2929 Unity Drive in the Sharpstown area of Houston, Texas, and serves a local congregation primarily in the Greater Houston metropolitan area. The organization delivers weekly Sunday worship services in English (11:00 am) and Spanish (9:45 am, "Unity en español"), midweek gatherings, prayer ministry, pastoral care, and a broad slate of spiritual-education programs including A Course in Miracles, Metaphysical Bible Study, Practice & Presence of Unity, The Way of Mastery, Reiki, and Yoga Therapy. It also runs family and youth ministry, Sunday School with bilingual offerings, monthly Family Fun Days and Parents' Night Out, men's and women's groups, grief support workshops, Toastmasters, a fine arts gallery, and a Travel With Unity program.

The underlying technology footprint is modest and operationally oriented: WordPress for the public site and event calendar, Shelby NEXT as the church management system for event registration and online giving, and Zoom for hybrid class delivery and livestreamed Sunday services. There are no proprietary software products, no AI/ML capabilities, no public APIs or developer-facing platform, and no patents or trademarks disclosed.

The revenue model is donation-driven under a love-offering philosophy, supplemented by modest per-session class fees (e.g., $15 Yoga Therapy), per-person event fees (teen and youth programs at $15-$20; Parents' Night Out at $15-$30 per family; Family Fun Days with suggested $10-$20 love offerings), and on-site bookstore sales of Unity literature and A Course in Miracles materials. The go-to-market motion is community-led and organic: member acquisition flows through Sunday services, small groups (over 30 SpiritGroups and ministry groups), family programming, bilingual outreach, the weekly "Next Week at Unity" newsletter, the website's online connection card, and livestream/Facebook channels — with no paid advertising and no venture, private equity, or institutional investment.
