Edgewood High School

What Edgewood High School does

Edgewood High School is a public secondary school operated by the Edgewood City School District, serving grades 9-12 students residing within the district boundaries in Butler County, Ohio. The school, located at 3045 Busenbark Road in Trenton, was established in 1969 through the consolidation of the Trenton and Shiloh School Districts and serves students from the Villages of Jacksonburg, Seven Mile, and the City of Trenton. As a public school, it charges no tuition and is funded through local tax revenue and state education funding. The school is governed by a Board of Education under the Edgewood City School District administration.

Academically, Edgewood provides a standard secondary education curriculum supplemented by the College Credit Plus dual enrollment program, which allows students to earn college credits through partnerships with Miami Regionals and Cincinnati State. Extracurricular offerings include the National Honor Society, a Best Buddies chapter with over 125 students supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and a comprehensive athletics program branded as the Edgewood Cougars. The athletic program fields 24 varsity sports across fall, winter, and spring seasons and competes in the Southwestern Buckeye League (SWBL) under the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), with Kumler Field serving as the primary outdoor venue.

The school's technology infrastructure is built on standard K-12 SaaS platforms rather than proprietary systems: ParentSquare for school-to-family communication and absence reporting (with Google and Microsoft 365 SSO), ProgressBook for student information and grade access, FinalForms for athletic and activity forms management, and Parchment for transcript and records services. Edgewood High School holds no commercial revenue model, no proprietary technology products, and no disclosed AI capabilities; its operational scope is bounded by its public-mandate role within the district.
