Christus Victor Lutheran Church

What Christus Victor Lutheran Church does

Christus Victor Lutheran Church is a private nonprofit religious organization and ELCA congregation based at 2098 W. Main in League City, Texas. It provides weekly worship services with Holy Communion on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., Christian education for all ages, music ministry (Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, Praise Team), youth programs, Vacation Bible School, Bible study, and confirmation classes. The church is led by Pastor Tammy Sharp, who has served since 2005 (ordained May 27, 2012), and is governed by a Congregational Council.

The organization also operates Christus Victor Children's School (CVCS), a wholly owned subsidiary operating in the church's Family Life Center. The school is a licensed childcare facility offering full-time care for infants through Pre-K and before/after-school care for school-age children through age 12, with transportation from local elementary schools and weekly chapel services. School leadership (Director Tebertha Henderson) has 13 years of childcare industry experience.

The business model combines voluntary donations (General Fund and Property Fund, with online giving and Kroger Community Rewards) and recurring school tuition (billed monthly, payable online via card or PayPal). Distribution is primarily local — in-person attendance and on-site enrollment — supplemented by YouTube live streaming of worship for remote participants. Outreach is delivered through community alliances with Interfaith Caring Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, and Lutheran World Relief, supported by an active events calendar (Pumpkin Patch, Trunk or Treat, LutherHill Camp, progressive dinners). The technology stack is conventional: WordPress CMS, YouTube, Facebook, and standard online payment processing, with no proprietary platform or AI capabilities.
