VYD Studio

What VYD Studio does

VYD Studio is a privately held, founder-led yacht design studio founded in 2015 by Paolo Dose and headquartered in Trieste, Italy. The studio provides bespoke exterior design, interior design, and construction supervision services for superyachts typically ranging from 30m to over 100m, with a stated focus on vessels above 35m. Core offerings include exterior styling, interior environments optimized for natural light and material reflection, workshop drawings, and on-site construction supervision, supplemented by custom furniture and interior element development. The studio's design philosophy emphasizes minimalism, timeless aesthetics, and harmony between client vision and the marine environment.

VYD Studio operates as a B2B professional services firm, generating revenue through project-based design commissions rather than standardized product sales. Pricing is custom and project-specific with no publicly disclosed fee schedule. The go-to-market is exclusively through direct relationships and repeat commissions with international shipyards, which then market completed yachts to ultra-high-net-worth buyers. Core channel partners include Mengi Yay Yachts (Turkey), Heysea Yachts (China), and Ocean King / Cantieri Navali Chioggia (Italy), with engineering typically delivered by long-term collaborator Ginton Naval Architects (Netherlands) and selective interior design partners such as Leonardo Santi Design and Red Yacht Design.

The business has completed roughly 70 projects since inception, with 23 yachts successfully launched, and maintains an active delivery cadence including the Virtus series (Mengi Yay), Atlante Classic series (Mengi Yay / Atlante Yachts), Asteria series (Heysea), and Ducale series (Ocean King). The studio has received industry recognition including the Concept Over 40 Meters Award at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2019 and multiple Boat International shortlistings for the Virtus 44. There is no disclosed external funding, parent company, or institutional ownership; the firm operates independently with a headcount in the 1-10 range.
