What Site Architects does

Site Architects is a private architecture and design firm founded in October 2023 by Erica Stahl Golden, AIA, LEED AP, and headquartered at 46 Weant Blvd in Carbondale, Colorado. The firm operates with a seven-person team (Principal Architect, Senior Project Architect, Project Manager, multiple Architects, and a Project Designer) and serves the Roaring Fork Valley region of Colorado, including Aspen, Carbondale, and Basalt. Its practice follows a site-first design philosophy that integrates buildings with their natural environment and emphasizes elegant, budget-conscious, and sustainable solutions.

The firm's portfolio spans four practice areas: workforce housing and multi-family developments (including the Basalt Vista Housing partnership with Habitat Roaring Fork and the ECSD Housing project), private residential design and remodels (four named private residences), commercial architecture (including FirstBank Basalt), and non-profit facilities (Response Center, Basalt Vista Housing). Core products are professional design services delivered from initial planning and budgeting through construction administration. The underlying technology consists of standard architectural software and design tools; the firm has no proprietary technology, patents, or AI-driven capabilities, and its website is built on WordPress.

Site Architects generates revenue through project-based professional services fees quoted individually for each engagement. The go-to-market model is sales-led and relies primarily on direct client engagement, word-of-mouth referrals within the Roaring Fork Valley community, a portfolio website, and an Instagram presence (@site_architects). The firm is founder-owned and bootstrapped, with no disclosed external investment, parent company, or subsidiaries. Customer segments include non-profits (e.g., Habitat Roaring Fork), commercial enterprises (e.g., FirstBank), and individual residential clients across the Aspen Valley area.
