ROCK PAPER SCISSORS PRODUCTIONS LTD

What ROCK PAPER SCISSORS PRODUCTIONS LTD does

Rock Paper Scissors Productions Ltd, trading as Bastard.London, is a London-based creative production studio operating as a solo practitioner business founded and run by Kai Bastard. The studio delivers commercial photography combined with CGI, animation, photogrammetry, green screen production, and creative retouching for advertising campaigns targeting healthcare/pharmaceutical brands and creative agencies worldwide. Underlying technology centres on integrating traditional photographic capture with computer-generated imagery and advanced post-production, supported by Bad Star Studios, an in-house London green screen facility that enables fully integrated shoots without external rental dependencies. AI image generation is incorporated as part of a broader CG/AI Director capability alongside photogrammetry-based 3D capture techniques recognised with an AOP Gold for Innovation in 2019.

The business operates on a project-based commissioned services model with custom quoting, no publicly disclosed pricing, and direct engagement via email, phone, WhatsApp, and Calendly-scheduled virtual Show & Tells. US market access is handled through GreenHouse Reps under Gary Hurewitz, supplemented by Kai's O1 Visa which allows unrestricted US project execution. Revenue is concentrated in the pharmaceutical vertical across a list of named enterprise clients including AbbVie, AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Roche, and Shire, alongside agency-side engagements.

Supporting the commercial pipeline, the studio markets through a portfolio website, Mailchimp-driven newsletter, Instagram presence, university and college guest talks, and earned media (notably a Wired feature). Sustainability commitments — second-hand equipment, recycled stock, CO2e reporting, local sourcing — are documented in a published environmental policy and function as a brand-level differentiator in pharmaceutical procurement. The studio also operates a Fine Art Photography sub-brand producing limited edition prints, which provides a parallel non-commercial revenue stream and reputational collateral.
