Timit Sports Timing Pty Ltd

What Timit Sports Timing Pty Ltd does

Timit Sports Timing Pty Ltd is an Australian sports timing and event management company founded in 2007, headquartered in Moorabbin, Victoria. The firm provides end-to-end timing, scoring, and event management services to event organizers across seven sport verticals: mass participation running, school sports, road cycling, triathlon, mountain biking, motor sports, and open water swimming. Its customer base spans grassroots club events through to elite international competitions, including UCI-sanctioned stage races, World Triathlon Championship Series events, and Ironman-distance triathlons.

The company's core technology stack is built around the RACE RESULT 12 timing and scoring software platform and the my.raceresult.com online registration and results portal, supplemented by active and passive RFID transponder systems, IDCam video backup, Racemap GPS tracking, FDS Smart LED displays, and Microgate photocells and chronometers. Timit co-developed the RaceResultExchange integration tool with RACE RESULT AG and has implemented compliance-grade integrations with the World Triathlon live timing API and the Ironman Tracker App. A consumer-facing Timit Event App, built with New Zealand-based Evento, extends the platform to participants and spectators on iOS and Android. The architecture is a best-of-breed integration rather than a proprietary monolithic platform, which limits lock-in but accelerates feature breadth.

Timit operates a project-based, quote-priced services model. Revenue streams include on-site timing services, remote support and results management, event file configuration and setup, timer training, online registration and Stripe-backed payment processing, and authorized resale of Microgate timing hardware. Go-to-market is primarily direct engagement with event organizers, supplemented by a global partner-timer network that provides local staffing for international events. Pricing is not publicly disclosed, and the company is privately held with no disclosed external funding.

Direct peers

• RACE RESULT AG: RACE RESULT AG is the developer of the RACE RESULT 12 timing platform that Timit deploys, and also operates its own timing and event-services business globally. It is the most directly comparable competitor (and strategic partner) for chip-timed sports events.
• Innovative Timing Solutions: Innovative Timing Solutions is a US-based sports timing services provider covering running, triathlon, cycling, and other endurance events. It is a direct peer in service delivery model, sport verticals, and target customers (event organizers).
• Sportstats: Sportstats is a Canadian sports timing services provider specializing in running, cycling, multisport, and skiing events. It is comparable as a regional timing-services operator using chip-based systems for endurance events.

Broad incumbents

• Mylaps: Mylaps is the dominant incumbent in chip-based sports timing hardware and software for motorsport, running, and cycling. It competes with RACE RESULT at the platform level and with timers using alternative hardware.
• ChronoTrack: ChronoTrack provides disposable RFID bib timing systems and event timing services for mass participation running, triathlon, and endurance events, competing with Timit's mass participation and triathlon verticals.
• RTRT (RunSignup/RTRT): RunSignup/RTRT provides registration, event-day tools, and a live event app used by mass participation running and triathlon events. It competes for the registration and results layer where Timit offers online registration and event app integration.

Emerging players

• Race Roster: Race Roster is an online registration and event management platform with timing integrations that competes for the registration and results layer of the same event organizer customers that Timit serves.
• AthletePath: AthletePath offers online registration, results, and event technology for endurance events. It overlaps with Timit's registration and results delivery service lines for mass participation events.

Regional players

• Athleta Timing: Athleta Timing is an example of a regional Asia-Pacific timing services firm serving school athletics, cross-country, and mass participation events, comparable in segment focus to Timit's school sports and running services.

Others

• Evento Mobile Apps: Evento is the New Zealand-based developer of the Timit Event App and also licenses its own branded event apps to other events (Epic Series, major Oceania runs). It is an adjacent technology provider in the event experience stack rather than a head-to-head timing competitor.
